Diploma in Chinese Language offered by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS)
The Diploma in Chinese Language helps interested individuals to learn and improve their Chinese proficiency excitingly with four modalities of language learning: listening, speaking, reading, and writing like a native. Classroom instruction is predominantly delivered in Chinese. Chinese classroom survival expressions will be taught intensively at the beginning of the course and at opportune teaching moments throughout the course. This Diploma course will cover Hanyu Pinyin (Chinese pronunciation system), Chinese writing system, and Chinese typing. Students will acquire Chinese communication skills through a myriad of contextualized and personalized mini-situations. Since this is an introductory Chinese course, the ultimate emphasis will be put on cultivating students’ interest in learning the language and on introducing them to the fun customs and the beauty of Chinese culture.
