
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is a multi-disciplinary Faculty of the Nāgānanda International Institute for Buddhist Studies (NIIBS).
This 40-day Residential Japanese Language Course is specifically designed to prepare students for JFT and other Japanese Proficiency Exams corresponding to the same level.
Throughout the program, learners will concentrate on developing a robust command of basic Japanese vocabulary for daily interactions, mastering fundamental grammar structures to create coherent sentences, refining reading skills to comprehend passages in Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji, and enhancing listening abilities to understand spoken Japanese in various everyday scenarios. These learning objectives are strategically addressed in the syllabus through a well-structured curriculum that integrates intensive grammar study, practical application exercises, and targeted Kanji learning sessions. The program not only strives to facilitate successful examination outcomes but also seeks to instill a profound appreciation for the richness of the Japanese language and culture.

Levels: The Japan Foundation Test for Basic Japanese (JFT – Basic) aligns with the A2 level of the CEFR and corresponds to JLPT levels N4 and N5.

The course fee is presently Rs. 125,000. This all-inclusive fee is charged to cover lectures, tutorials, examinations, hostel facilities and food facilities.

Normally, fees paid will not be refunded. However, requests for refund of fees may be considered if made before the expiry of one week from the date of commencement of lectures for each semester.
