
Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebration for the year 2024 was ceremonially held at the NIIBS premises on 04th May 2024 with the participation of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Academic and Non-Academic Staff Members and Students of NIIBS. The festival was meticulously organized, with colorful decorations, traditional Sri Lankan music, dance performances and mouthwatering traditional food. Participants were able to immerse themselves in the rich culture and traditions of Sri Lanka, celebrating the Sinhala and Tamil New Year in a truly festive atmosphere. The event created a sense of community and unity among attendees, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and shared experiences. The highlight of the festival was the traditional games and activities, including Avurudu Kumari, Kotta Pora and Kaba Adima competitions, which brought out the competitive spirit in everyone. The joy and laughter that filled the air, combined with the delicious aroma of traditional sweets and treats, created a memorable and enjoyable experience for all.
